The arts thrive in Bethel School District! Research shows that arts education is a vital link to critical thinking and creativity. Through participation in the arts, our students make connections within and across all art forms, other disciplines, various cultures, all aspects of life, and the world of work.

Bethel offers many arts programs that provide students with opportunities to be artistically literate, to use artistic processes, to think creatively, and to solve problems. Our students may choose from a variety of classes and extracurricular offerings including band, choir, dance, theatre, general music, orchestra, and visual art.

The Bethel School District boasts a host of award-winning performing arts groups. Music, theatre, and dance groups all thrive in our schools. Our Festivals for the 2008-2009 school year include:

  • District Art Festival on Saturday, February 28, at Spanaway Junior High from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • District Choral Festival on Wednesday, March 25, at Graham-Kapowsin High School beginning at 7:00 p.m.
  • District Orchestra Festival on Thursday, May 14, at Graham-Kapowsin High School beginning at 7:00 p.m.
  • District Band Festival on Tuesday, June 2, at PLU’s Olson Auditorium beginning at 7:00 p.m.
