Community Connections

Welcome to the Community Connections section of the Bethel website. Our department works diligently at building and maintaining relationships with organizations, businesses and faith-based groups in our community. In the absence of local government, we strive to bring people together to meet the needs of children and families.

District partners

We work with many partners to keep the Bethel Family Center - located on the Challenger Secondary School campus - growing and thriving as a source for family services in our area. We partner with Pierce County Community Services and the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Pierce County to provide after-school programs in 12 elementary schools and two junior highs.

Homeless students

We also work to insure that our McKinney-Vento students—those lacking regular fixed housing—have opportunities to be successful in school.

America’s Promise

We promote America’s Promise within the schools and the community. We are proud to be Pierce County’s first school district of promise. We also work with the health department and court system to keep our kids attending school.

B.E.S.T.

We support B.E.S.T. in their efforts to raise scholarships for Bethel students. We team up with the community to create a Bethel community float each spring for the Daffodil Parade to promote our community and ensure that our students can serve as royalty.

Working together on behalf of kids

There is an African proverb that says, “It takes a whole village to raise a child.” We are active participants in that village. We work with our partners to help families and children access every opportunity to succeed. We believe great things happen when we join hands to get the job done.
