• 2017 Summer School Information

    2017 Summer School Course List

    The summer school application will be available no later than April 10. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis beginning May 1.

    2017 Summer School Dates:

    Class Time (all locations): 7:45am-2:45pm with a 30 minute lunch

    Monday through Friday unless noted

    Session I: June 26 - July 14 (No School July 4)

    Sumner HS Site Only Session I: June 27 - July 14 (No School July 4)

    Session II: July 17 - August 3

    Session III: July 12 - August 3 (Mt Tahoma site only, Monday-Thursday)

    At this time, we plan to offer summer school at the following locations (subject to change): 

    • PCSC - Frederickson Campus
    • Bethel SD - Graham-Kapowsin High School
    • Fife SD - Fife High School
    • Franklin Pierce SD - Washington High School
    • Orting SD - Orting High School
    • Steilacoom SD - Steilacoom High School
    • Sumner SD - Sumner High School
    • Tacoma SD - Mt Tahoma High School
    • White River SD - White River High School

    Summer School Class Credit: Students may earn .5 credits per session. Students may be enrolled in only one summer school class per session.

    Summer School Tuition: There is no cost for PCSC summer school.

    Attendance Policy: Students may not miss more than three school days (excused or unexcused), including tardies (three tardies=one half-day absence) during summer school in order to receive credit for the class. Students who are absent on the first day of class may be replaced with a student on the waiting list (if one exists for that particular class). Please remember that each day of summer school is equivalent to nearly one week of class during the regular school year.

    Applied Math Classes: Students enrolling in any math class must complete the Math Approval Form included with the summer school application. The Math Approval Form must be signed by the parent and the student's school counselor and returned with the application in order for the application to be processed for the student.

    Transportation: PCSC does not provide transportation for summer school.

    Lunches: Student have one-half hour for lunch each day. PCSC summer school has an open campus policy which allows students to leave campus and purchase lunch off-site. Students may also bring a sack lunch from home. There is no microwave available to students. Students who are tardy coming back from lunch may lose open campus privileges. 

    Summer school class are subject to change/cancellation due to low enrollment or lack of a qualified instructor.
