    This is a very busy month for the counselors.  We are out of the office in other buildings and in classrooms, the best way to contact us is through email!  We can answer any scheduling questions students may have during registration.

    Parents/Guardians- Yellow registration forms have come home- Be on the lookout! Parent/Guardian signature is required.

    Students have registered through Career Cruising and course selections have been requested.  If you need to change a course please email your counselor.

    Start thinking and planning! 

    Be prepared for registration:

    1. By knowing what classes you need to fulfill Graduation Requirements.
    2. By creating your 4 Year Graduation Plan.
    3. By using the BSD Course Catalog as a guide.

    Did you know that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Washington Application for State Financial Aid (WASFA) are available on October 1stAll students interested in going to college should apply!

    File the FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov. Students unable to file the FAFSA due to immigration status, but who may be eligible for state financial aid programs should file the WASFA at www.readysetgrad.org/WASFA. Beginning this fall, the WASFA will be using a new software to make filing easier so be on the lookout for updates! You/your students can email wasfa@wsac.wa.gov with any questions.




    2017 Goodwill Summer Jobs/Internship Program 

    This is a unique opportunity to gain work experience and build your resume at an organization or business in your community.  The program also offers five summer job positions for youth aged sixteen years or older to gain real world job experience at a business within their community.

    On Wednesday, March 8th students will have an opportunity to visit the Port of Tacoma to learn more about longshoremen and to visit the following on the water:

    • Cargo Vessel
    • Large Tug Boat
    • Small Tug Boat
    • Crane

    This is an opportunity for the students to see some careers in action and to have an opportunity to meet with specialists in some of the following careers/trades:

    • Computers (Can lead to opportunities with IBM/MAC)
    • HR
    • Medical Fields
    • Mechanical Fields
    • Office in the Military
    • Much More...
