Eleven members of Bethel High School’s 62nd Braves Squadron Air Force Junior ROTC recently served their community by volunteering at the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides against Breast Cancer Walk at Wright Park in Tacoma.
Cadets were responsible for blowing up balloons, clearing the area of trash and recyclables and helping vendors set up their booths. They also worked as route marshals to help walkers navigate the 5K course. After the walk, the Air Force treated the cadets to lunch.
The students were selected to help with the event because of all their hard work at last year’s event and at the Relay for Life in June.
