Band


Elementary
Elementary students may begin a band instrument in fifth or sixth grade. Our elementary schools have either a music specialist who also teachers band, or a highly qualified band specialist who visits the school daily. Elementary students usually begin their band experience on the flute, clarinet, trumpet, or trombone.

Junior High
By junior high, students may choose to continue their instrumental experience by electing to take band. Each of our junior highs have a highly qualified band director, and offers classes such as Beginning Band, Concert Band, Symphonic Band, and Jazz Band.  In addition to school concerts, students may also participate in small and large group solo/ensemble contests.

High School
High school students have more advanced opportunities to continue their experiences in the Band program with a highly qualified band director. Our high schools offer experiences in performing groups such as Concert Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band. Students may also perform a solo or in a small ensemble at the spring solo/ensemble contest, or with their band at the annual band contest, district festival, or parades.
