Elementary
Visual arts are offered to students in a variety of ways in Bethel. In most elementary schools, classroom teachers integrate art into other subject areas. When visual arts are taught by a highly qualified specialist, students learn concepts and skills in a more concentrated way. When visual arts is taught in an integrated way, it often provides a very meaningful experience for the student.

Junior High
With the wide variety of visual arts experiences in elementary school, art classes in junior high often have students enrolled with varying artistic knowledge and levels of expertise. The elements of art and the principles of design are offered in basic art classes by highly qualified visual arts specialits, as well as in ceramics, pottery, sculpture, drawing, lettering, painting, and print making. Through a project-based offering entitled Art At Work, students learn about illustration, advertising, architecture, interior design, cartooning, stage design and mural design.

High School
At senior high, students are able to take classes in basic art, advanced art, sculpture, drawing, painting, graphic design, and pottery. Many of these courses provide opportunities for juried artwork, allowing students to gain recognition at art contests and adjudications. Classes in jewelry, photography and ceramics are also offered throughout the year.

SLHS senior Cherelle Jackson - SLHS senior Cherelle Jackson has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at the Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland, Kansas. Tenth Annual Elementary Battle of the Books - Pioneer Valley took the title in this year's Elementary Battle of the Books! Camas Prairie came in second. Congrats to all who participated!
