CTE Department Goals 2011/2012


  1. Increase Dual Credit opportunities and enrollments
    1. Teachers should plan to attend articulation meetings for their program areas
    2. PC3 office will work with CTE staff to combine program-specific advisory meetings and articulation meetings on a pilot basis (for specific program only) in 2011*
  2. Create and refine common classroom-based performance assessments
    1. Identify existing assessments that may be applicable to CTE courses
    2. Create assessments as teams
    3. Pilot assessments for classroom feasibility
  3. Look for and offer additional certification opportunities for students
    1. Identify what certification would be appropriate for each program
    2. Look for ways to make certification affordable
    3. Have teachers certified if possible

Continued Work in CTE 2011/2012

  1. Continue reviewing and improving online CTE options
  2. Continue to improve Bethel CTE Advisory
    1. Recruit advisory members
    2. Each teacher should help coordinate and attend at least one program-specific advisory meeting during the school year*

SLHS senior Cherelle Jackson - SLHS senior Cherelle Jackson has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at the Northwest Kansas Technical College in Goodland, Kansas. Tenth Annual Elementary Battle of the Books - Pioneer Valley took the title in this year's Elementary Battle of the Books! Camas Prairie came in second. Congrats to all who participated!
