School Choice

As a result of not making AYP, No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001 states that parents of Title I schools have the option to transfer their child to another school, within our district, that has not been identified for school improvement.

Although Bethel can transfer children to a school that is not in improvement, the district cannot guarantee a specific school. Transportation will be provided. The schools being offered were selected because of location and consideration of the amount of time students will be on the bus. Transfers will be honored through the highest grade that the school serves, unless the transfer school fails to make AYP in the future.
