Communications

The communications department takes pride in connecting our schools to the community. We believe that timely, incisive information helps students, parents and staff maximize their ability to promote student learning.

Bethel Pride

The district’s premier publication is the 8-page, tabloid-size Bethel Pride newspaper, published six times a year. The newspaper, delivered to 40,000 addresses in the community, was one of six publications nationwide to win the highest award from the National School Public Relations Association in 2004. The paper has won the top state award for four consecutive years. It has also won top awards for writing and photography. The newspaper focuses on teaching and learning, with highlights of new curriculum, academic awards and parent involvement. It also covers human interest stories and community news.

Website

The district website, redesigned in November of 2010, is intended to provide up-to-date information on school news and events. Updated daily, it includes photos, an electronic calendar and contact information. Previous Bethel websites have won the top state award from the Washington School Public Relations Association and we will continue to strive for greatness with the current site.

Calendar

The district photo calendar is published each summer for the following school year. Filled with lively photos, the calendar lists school holidays and events, as well as district policy information. In 2010, the district’s calendar was awarded the Certificate of Excellence from the WA School Public Relations Association.

Other publications

The communications department also publishes an annual school report for each school, promotional materials for job fairs, and brochures for district programs.
