Meet the Superintendent

 -

It’s an exciting time to be in Bethel!

Across the district, we are targeting math, which has long been one of our biggest weaknesses. And, in effort to give our students more opportunities than ever before, we are proud to be opening the Bethel Elementary Learning Academy, an online program for grades K-6 and the Pierce County Skills Center, a new vocational/technical high school that will serve all students in our region.

Beyond student achievement, another dramatic shift is taking place in our schools. Projects like Liberty Junior High and the newly remodeled Spanaway Lake High School are helping bring an end to years of overcrowding. Replacements for Spanaway and Clover Creek elementary schools broke ground this year and a remodel of Shining Mountain is just around the corner.

Bethel is on its way to becoming one of the best school districts in the state. We still have much more to do, but with your help anything is possible. We thank you for all of your support and for giving our students the tools they need to be successful. I encourage you to contact your school and get involved in your child’s learning.

Together, we can make a difference.
Tom Seigel, Superintendent
