2011/12 Kindergarten Information

Bethel Schools recognize the importance of giving children a solid foundation for learning beginning in Kindergarten. This year, we are pleased to offer families a choice between the standard half-day and full-day Kindergarten programs.

Tuition-based, full-day Kindergarten
For the 2011-12 school year, tuition-based, full day alternatives are available at Elk Plain (details below), Graham, North Star and Pioneer Valley elementary schools. The program costs $250 per month for ten months, plus a $40 registration fee. Payment plans are available. For more information about full-day kindergarten, call the Office of Elementary Schools at 253.683.6014.

Kindergarten at Elk Plain School of Choice
Elk Plain School of Choice offers a tuition-based full-day kindergarten program. Due to the popularity of this program and limited space, a lottery drawing is held to determine student selection. The cost is $250 per month for ten months and a $40 registration fee. Elk Plain School of Choice has a focus on science and the arts. Contact Elk Plain School of Choice at 253.683.7900 for further application and deadline information.

Tuition-free, full day Kindergarten
In 2011-12, several Bethel area schools qualified for Title I funding from the federal government. By law, Title I monies must be used to provide extra educational support services to students at qualifying schools. One approved use of these funds is an expanded, full day kindergarten program. Due to this additional funding, students can attend these programs free of charge. Admission is open to students who live within the school’s regular attendance area.

For a complete list of schools and the programs being offered, please see the list below.
