Our Communities. Our Best, Then Better!

    Lightning Families:

As you know, the Governor has called for the closing of all schools in Washington state. When students are in attendance at school there are large numbers of people in one place. For instance at Liberty there is a total of nearly 900 staff and students in this building on a daily basis. That large number of people in one place makes assuring for social distancing difficult. As a result, the virus can be more easily passed from one person to another.

The plan now is for school to be closed from Tuesday (3/17) through April 24th. That means students will return back to school on April 27th.

This is an opportunity for our students to learn in a different way.

We expect students to check their school email daily to keep up with school work and announcements.

We expect students to participate in these learning activities each school day until April 24th.

Students still get spring break off: March 30 through April 3.

Teachers will be working to prepare learning opportunities for students that you will get through email/CANVAS, and other methods. Plan to see new assignments sent on Friday, March 20th. We will be wrapping up our 2nd trimester on that day.

If students don’t have access to technology, we will be providing paper copies. We will be setting up a system to pick them up from the main office or have them sent via email.

If students need technical assistance, please email XXX.

For general questions, students should email their advisory teachers.

The new trimester begins Monday, March 24th.  Students will have new trimester teachers. It will be important for them to keep up with your new schedule online.

When you return to school on April 27, students should be prepared to step back into school and be ready to finish the school year strong.
