  • Welcome Back Tiger Families!

We are so happy to serve your child(ren) and you at Thompson Elementary.  At Thompson, we believe that there are NO EXCUSES for children not being successful and we support you and your child to reach their potential. This means that we have high expectations, both academically and behaviorally, of our students. But, this also means that we will have frequent honest conversations with you about your child’s progress, academically and behaviorally.

Did you know that last year Thompson Elementary was ranked as the 2nd highest academically performing school in Bethel School District? This great work was made possible by all of the students, parents and staff coming together to remove barriers and excuses from learning and prevent surprises in communication between home and school.

Our big goal for this year is for every student, without excuse and without exception to be proficient in reading, writing and math. Three years ago, only 33% of our students were proficient in reading, writing and math. Last year, 80% of our students met this goal. So, we NEED your help. In the coming weeks, each grade-level will have a Parent Information Night that I need you to come to. We will have child care so that you can focus on the presentation. Plan to be here! As a parent myself, I know that schedules get busy. But, if you are not here, you will not get the information to best help your child this year. The schedule of these meetings is on the front page of this newsletter, please look for it. Or, call me and I can tell you when they are.  I look forward to another year of moving forward with your help.

    Thank you!
    Ralph Wisner
