Pierce County Skills Center
The Pierce County Skills Center is possibly the most unique institution in the district. The school, which opened in 2010, resides inside the Bethel School District but serves students from nine area districts -- Bethel, Eatonville, Fife, Franklin Pierce, Orting, Steilacoom, Sumner, Tacoma and White River. The school’s primary purpose is to give students the academic and work skills to successfully enter the job market or advanced education and training programs. It provides cost-effective, quality job training in programs that would be too expensive to offer at every high school.
