      Family Income Survey

      • PLEASE COMPLETE THE FAMILY INCOME SURVEY

As you know, 24 of our schools with high numbers of low-income children offer all meals at no charge thanks to the USDA's Community Eligibility Provision. Those schools are:

        • Bethel Acceleration Academy

        • Bethel High School

        • Bethel Hope Early Learning Center

        • Bethel Middle School

        • Camas Prairie Elementary School

        • Cedarcrest Middle School

        • Centennial Elementary School

        • Challenger High School

        • Clover Creek Elementary School

        • Evergreen Elementary School

        • Frederickson Elementary School

        • Kapowsin Elementary School

        • Katherine G. Johnson Elementary School

        • Liberty Middle School

        • Naches Trail Elementary School and Preschool

        • North Star Elementary School

        • Pioneer Valley Elementary School and Preschool

        • Rocky Ridge Elementary and Preschool

        • Roy Elementary School

        • Shining Mountain Elementary School

        • Spanaway Elementary and Preschool

        • Spanaway Middle School

        • Spanaway Lake High School

        • Thompson Elementary and Preschool

Our Child Nutrition team worked hard with the state to qualify as many of our schools as possible for free meal service.

If your student attends one of these schools, we need you to fill out the Family Income Survey if you haven't already. This will help ensure that your child’s school continues to get the full amount of federal and state funding available to them, and makes sure your child is receiving all the services they are eligible as the school must have a way to identify children from households that are at or below the federal poverty level.

If your student does not attend one of these schools, you may qualify for free or reduced-price meals. The free or reduced-price meals application only takes a few minutes and can be completed using your smartphone, tablet, or computer.

The Family Income Survey only needs to be completed for your students attending one of the schools above. If you have another student at a school that is not on the list, you should count them in the "household" number on the survey.

For questions or assistance, please contact Child Nutrition Services during regular business hours 7:00-3:30 p.m. at 253-800-3912.

        Food Allergies

It is our desire to provide students with the safest possible food environment. Together with teachers, nurses and our Child Nutrition staff, we can create a plan to help meet your students’ special dietary needs.

Contact our office at 253.800.3912 for more information.

        Wellness Policy

Nationally, there has been much attention focused on the health of our children. As the number of overweight and poorly nourished children begins to climb, school districts throughout the county have developed “wellness policies” to address the health of their students. Research demonstrates that the healthier our students are, the more prepared they are to learn.

Bethel School District, with input from parents, students, staff and community members, has established guidelines for physical activity, nutrition and health education, which will affect all of our students and schools. These guidelines set standards for the kinds of foods offered in school, minimum requirements for student physical activity offered during the school day, as well as guidelines for nutrition and health education.
