What does it mean to be career and college ready?

To be career-ready, a person must first effectively navigate the various pathways connecting education to employment.  Those various pathways may include Dual Credit, Running Start, Alternative Learning Experiences, Work-based Learning, and Career and Technical Education. These programs provide students with an opportunity to become career and college ready.  

A career is more than just a job; it can provide financial independence and a rewarding lifestyle. A successful career in our ever-changing global economy requires adaptability and a commitment to lifelong learning, along with attainment of specific knowledge and skills.  Bethel's Career and College Readiness programs will help all Bethel students navigate the pathways so they are ready to find their own fulfilling and rewarding careers.

Our Mission

The mission of Bethel School District's Career and College Readiness Department and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Program is to develop, implement, and sustain challenging, real-world educational programs that are academically integrated and enhanced with 21st century skills.  All Bethel CTE courses will prepare students to enter post-secondary education and to meet the needs of today's high-paced, competitive work environment.

Our Vision

All students in grades 9 through 12 will enroll and be successful in career and technical education (CTE) and academic courses based on a thoughtful career pathway selection. Students will progress through their secondary programs with a post-secondary plan, a commitment to on-going education and training beyond high school, and an understanding of how their learning can be applied outside of school. Students will develop a portfolio and present a project that demonstrates their skills and accomplishments.
