COUGAR MOUNTAIN FAMILIES 3/18-22Today was our first day of the 3rd trimester, our final of the school year. We only have 5 more school weeks before SBA testing starts, which is at the end of April. Spring is a time where students are less engaged and off-task in class, but this is the time we need students engaged! Please talk to your child(ren) about the importance of finishing the year off strong, participating in class and turning in all class work.BOOSTER DANCE THUR 21st: This Thursday we have our Booster Dance. Dance tickets are $5 sold during lunches. Please support our amazing Booster Club and attend the dance on Thur from 2-4pm.ENERGY DRINKS: Please DO NOT have students bring energy drinks to school and do not drop them off for students during school. Energy drinks are not allowed.TEXTING YOUR CHILD DURING SCHOOL HOURS: Parents, please DO NOT text your child during school. Phones are not allowed after 7:05, students are receiving consequences because you are texting your child during class which is also disruptive since your child is no longer engaged in the lesson. If it is an emergency, please call the school at 25-683=8000.CANNED MADNESS FOOD DRIVE: Our annual Canned Madness Drive begins this Monday and goes through the 29th!! Every year we collect food, clothes, and school supplies to help our own Cougar Mountain families and the local community. Our unique spin on the typical food drive is driven by the current needs of our students and combining it with a 'NCAA basketball' type tournament between advisory classes. We are proud to be helping our feeder elementary schools and Challenger High School again this year. Together we can help make each day a bit easier for those that are struggling.
For two weeks, each Tuesday and Thursday, we will come in to advisory classes and count items. The goal is to be the team with the highest total to move on in the bracket. See attached point sheets and rules. Most importantly please do not bring in expired, opened, used, or glass items.
Keep bringing in items, as the region with the most points will win root beer floats! The team that wins the championship round will win root beer floats.SPIRIT WEEK THIS WEEK:Tuesday 19th- Sunshine Day/YellowWednesday 20th- Pastel Day/PinkThursday 21st- Flower Day/All Spring ColorsFriday 22nd- Tie Dye Day/Rainbow ColorsUPDATE iPADS NOW: We have almost 100 students who have not updated their iPad to iOS12.
