A Message from Mr. Brauer

  • Centennial Families:

I hope you all have enjoyed a wonderful holiday season!

    Winter Weather:

Official information about winter weather delays and closures will be shared first via robocall, email and text to families. Be sure your contact information is up to date in the office. Winter weather updates will also be shared on social media and our district website. Learn more at www.bethelsd.org/winter.

    Phone Number Change:
All of our district and school phone numbers are changing prefixes this year. Due to the need for more numbers, we will no longer be 683. We will be 800. The majority of numbers – including all elementary, middle and high schools – will retain their same last four digits. For example, the number for Centennial Elementary, 253-683-7700 will simply become 253-800-7700. Until April 1, 2020 both the old and new numbers will work. Please use that time to update your contacts. A few administrative buildings, as well as the Pierce County Skills Center, will get completely new phone numbers.

    Flu Season:

It is important for the safety and well-being of all students and staff that when students are showing flu-like symptoms, that they remain home so they do not infect other students on campus. Students who are showing these symptoms at school will be sent home. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

    Highly Capable Referrals (1st-7th Grade)

Anyone (parents, teachers, community, etc.) can refer a student to be tested for potential qualification in our Highly Capable programs. Referrals for 1st-7th grade are due January 31. Complete the referral form at www.bethelsd.org/page/682.

The staff at Centennial would like to continue to emphasize ways for parents to partner with the school and support students this year:

    1. Have your student to school prepared and on time each day (8:30 is our tardy bell).
    2. Checking your student’s backpack and discussing its contents as well as your student’s day – Use the magnet given to you at November conferences.
    3. Initiating communication with your student’s teacher to ensure a positive school experience.
    4. Signing in and out of the office each time you visit
