Message to families 3.23.2020
Greetings Elk Plain Families,
I’ve just finished listening to the Governor’s latest press conference for the state. In it he directed all of us to stay home for at least the next two weeks. Looks like we’re in for a long haul together. As each day has passed, we at school have been trying to figure out how best to meet the needs of our community. We continue to do so now. Everything I’ve got to share with you in this message is our latest efforts in this direction. I hope that each of you is managing under these strange circumstances.
I’ll do my best in this message to update of what we’re making available, let you know about opportunities that exist for you and your family, and give you an idea of how to reach us if you have needs.
First and most importantly, the vast majority of our learning is now occurring online. If you’re a family that can’t take advantage of that in your home and you haven’t already done so, please reach out to your child’s teacher or call the main school line. We have a variety of resources available and we’ll do our best to try and connect your child with continued learning.
Don’t forget too, that the Bethel School District is running a food program for ALL students up to 18 years old. You can find information about that on our District’s Webpage, but I’ll also be including that same information in the email that accompanies this message.
I’ve gathered information from each grade level as well as our specialist teachers about what they’ve been making available for families. The list is pretty long and are only brief descriptions, so I’m including it too in the email that accompanies this message. I strongly encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher with questions about any of this work.
We are still checking email and main telephone line messages daily. If you have questions please reach out to us. I will continue to update you as things change.
