  • Healthy Youth Survey Information

Posted by BETHANY AOKI on 9/24/2021

Washington State Healthy Youth Survey 2021 Our school is participating in the Washington State Healthy Youth Survey during fall 2021. The survey will be given to students in Grades 6, 8, 10 and 12.

The Healthy Youth Survey includes questions related to physical activity and diet, unintentional and intentional injury, substance use, sexual behaviors, abuse, risk and protective factors, and access to school-based services.

Survey results are used by schools, communities and state agencies to plan programs to support our youth and reduce their risks. Participation in the survey is voluntary and the students’ answers are anonymous.

This year, schools and districts are being instructed to disable any recording, keystroke tracking, and video capture software on school-issued devices used to take the survey. Please read the Parent and Student Notification Letter for more information about the Healthy Youth Survey.

6th and 8th Grade Students will be taking the Healthy Youth Survey in science classes October 27-29th.

  • Students Who Need To Quarantine- Procedures

Posted by BETHANY AOKI on 9/23/2021

PROCEDURES FOR STUDENTS QUARANTINING AND MISSING SCHOOL: We know that missing school to quarantine can be stressful for students and families. Once we are aware of a student needing to quarantine, the following happens:

    • I send out an email to all teachers telling them to please reach out(email) to the student and family letting them know the expected date of return for the student.
    • Teachers have 24 hours to email students and families work the student can do while out, where to find the work and to set up a Zoom after school if the student has more questions or needs help.
    • Attendance is automatically entered in for the students- the absences are excused.

    • Student has to quarantine for 14 days regardless of negative Covid test
    • Student who has no symptoms and a negative Covid test still have to quarantine for 14 days.

    • IF no symptoms student can remain at school and take a Covid test 3-5 days within exposure.
    • If Covid test is negative student can remain at school
    • If student has symptom(s), student stays home and takes Covid test, if negative, the student can return to school.
    • If student tests positive, student has to quarantine for 10 days from symptom onset or if no symptoms, 10 days from test date.
