Elementary Literacy Pilot Preview
Our current literacy curriculum that we have had for over 10 years will not be available after this year. Therefore, we are excited to update you about our Elementary Literacy Pilot that is in full swing!
Over 50 elementary teachers across all school sites are piloting (or testing out) the top two curriculum options selected by last year’s Curriculum Review Team: Into Reading (by HMH) and CKLA (by Amplify). Into Reading was piloted from October to December, and CKLA is currently being explored from January to March. With at least two teachers in every elementary school participating, your child may already be experiencing these programs in their classroom! This hands-on process allows teachers to evaluate how each program supports student learning and enhances instruction.
Now, we want to hear from you! We invite parents, students, and community members to preview these curriculum options and share their thoughts. You can explore them virtually by watching overview videos or join us in person on March 24th from 5 to 7 p.m. to review materials firsthand. Your input is invaluable as we make this important decision together.
We appreciate the dedication of our pilot teachers and look forward to engaging with our community in this collaborative process!
