Superintendent's Student Leadership Council
The mission of the Bethel School District is to provide a safe and educational environment that enables students to develop and apply the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and values necessary to realize their maximum potential. We must establish strong relationships and partner with students to best position them for success in achieving this goal. To cultivate a culture of understanding of the student experience in our district, student voice is essential for empowering and engaging students in their education.
Vision/Purpose:
The Superintendent's Student Leadership Council (SSLC) will serve as a platform for students to amplify their voices and engage with district leadership/building staff. Students will have the opportunity to provide first-hand perspectives, experiences, feedback, ideas, and thoughts about their educational experience. In partnering with students, we will use their input to help influence district/school culture, engagement, policies, procedures, and practices.
Student Commitment:
- Monthly meeting with the assigned school Equity Specialist and/or Community Connections representative to discuss current successes and challenges, and prepare for the monthly meeting with district leadership
- Monthly SSLC meeting with Superintendent and Senior Staff
- 1 Evening session with Superintendent and School Board
- 1-year commitment with the option to reapply each year
