Greetings Challenger Students and Families~

Here are important announcements for the month of December for Challenger. Please take note of these important announcements and have a wonderful month of December!

Late Arrival Wednesday, December 4th

Wednesday, December 4th is a Late Arrival Day in the Bethel School District. At Challenger we will not have busing or scheduled classes on this day. Teachers will be available for Open Labs from 11:30 - 2:30 pm if students can get to campus. Please encourage your student to attend Open Labs to get extra help and support in their classes.

New Tutorting Opportunities!

Tutoring is now available before the AM session and after the PM session at Challenger! If your student needs individualized support please encourage them to attend these tutoring sessions:

AM Tutoring (The Breakfast Club) will happen Monday – Friday, 7:00 – 7:55 AM in Bethel Family Center Classroom A.

PM Tutoring will happen Tuesday and Thursday, 2:30 – 4:00 pm.

Math tutoring will happen in Mr. Nelson’s room

ELA tutoring will happen in Ms. Warren’s room.

Students can catch the Activity Bus home at 4:00 pm on these days.

Winter Break

Friday, December 21st is the last day before Winter Break. The break will go between December 22 and January 7th. Classes will resume on Tuesday, January 8th. Have a wonderful holiday season!

Family Support Resources

The holiday season can be stressful on students and families. Challenger has staff on hand to help out during this time of year. If your student or family needs extra support please feel free to contact our school Social Worker, Patti Bunnell at 253.683.6854 and/or our Family Resource Coordinator, Ashley Wojtanowicz at 253.683.6825. The Challenger website also has resources posted for you, please check out this page for resources available through Challenger and the Bethel Family Center.

Weather/Snow Delays

The Bethel School District will post all school delays and cancellations due to inclement weather on each school’s website and will also send out auto-dialer notifications. Please check the district website for any  changes in schedule due to weather. If there is a 2-hour delay there will be no busing or scheduled classes at Challenger. Teachers will be available for students if they can get to campus on these weather-delayed days.

Have a wonderful winter break and holiday season. If you are traveling, please have safe journeys and we will see students back at school on Tuesday, January 8th.
