Challenger News for December 11 - 21

Posted by JEFFREY JOHNSON on 12/11/2018

We are focusing on attendance at Challenger during the month of December. Students are much more successful when they have regular attendance; conversely, students find it difficult to keep up in their classes if they miss days. Please encourage your student to be at school each and every day--your student's sucess depends on it!

As you may know, the Bethel School Distict Bond failed in November by a very thin margin. The School Board met recently to discuss what to do in the wake of our failed November bond. Board members talked about the pros and cons of a Capital Levy, which only requires a simple majority to pass, versus running another Construction Bond, which requires a 60% supermajority. They also discussed rerunning the bond as it is, or making some small changes to it. Decisions will be made at a special December 11 School Board meeting. Read more at

If you know a high school senior, remind them to complete their FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) registration! Many types of aid are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Even if they're not sure what school they'll attend, they should still fill out the form ASAP. Learn more here →
