Principal's Message

  • Dear Sentinel Families,

Welcome back..........every year we send home a great deal of information to help students and their families prepare for the start of school. The August Sentinel Scroll includes all upcoming school events, updates, and other pertinent information for each grade level. Families are encouraged to regularly visit our website as we continually post new information regarding SLHS events and academic information.

Our "Get Your Stuff Day" will be held on Friday, August 25th. This is a day for all students to get your iPads, have your picture taken and pay for various items such as ASB cards, pictures, parking permits and yearbooks. (Please note students must show proof of current vehicle registration, driver's license, and auto insurance to receive a parking permit.)

Please adhere to the following times listed for "Get Your Stuff Day".

         Seniors:                   7:50 -  9:45

         Juniors:                    9:45 -11:15

         Sophomores:          11:45 -  1:50

         Freshmen:               2:00 -  4:00

Please note: The first day of school for freshmen is on Wednesday, August 30th for all incoming 9th graders. The day will start at 9:50 a.m. and end at 2:20 p.m. Bus transportation will be provided for all freshmen on August 30th since this will be the first day of school for our 9th graders. We have a schedule of events for incoming 9th graders where they will be working with student leaders and staff in our building to build a connection with adults and students. This exciting program, called LINK Crew, has been adopted at all three high schools in the Bethel District.

Remember Class of 2019 and Class of 2020 must have 24 credits to graduate from high school! Our students cannot afford to become credit deficient and get behind! Parents - we need your help to keep students on track...Our students' ability to achieve is only limited by our investment in their success....let's work together to support our students emotionally and academically! Please help monitor their attendance - including tardies, discipline, and grades. We are currently offering 7th period in ELA (English Language Arts) for 10th graders as well as a 7th period Physical Science for 10th graders who failed their class as a freshman.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact their appropriate counselor for additional information or to discuss credit retrieval opportunities:
